Face Painting Is Cool

So face painting is cool. We think this, and so do the nice people at Vogue it seems. This month's issue features an article on why big, fun make up is just so in this season. Apparently we're revolting against the trends we grew up around in the 90s - minimal and natural. Hell knows we spent hours learning to apply our make up in a way that made us look like we weren't wearing any at all. We recommend you read the article - it's good.

It's time to break free boys and girls from conservative attitudes that are so two decades ago. Make-up is fun. Natives love it and we want you all to love it too. We've been trying out some great products recently and we're going to start letting you know about our favourites so you don't miss out on the goodies!

This Saturday we're going to be painting faces here...

These parties are good. The location is kept quiet until close to the night...check back at the end of the week and we'll give you a heads up.

So we're currently donating 20% of what we make to the people of Haiti. Thank you to everyone who's given extra and donated what they can. If you want to help, the link below will take you to a page where you can donate money to the cause.

Glitter tastic!

Thanks to everyone who paid our glitter booth a visit over the weekend, it was great to meet you all and whilst painting your faces we raised money for the Haiti earthquake appeal at the same time. We'll be doing the same over the coming weeks, making a donation to the appeal from the nights we are at.

We had a brilliant time at Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Ronnkie Pop and hope you all did to. More exciting news is that this Thursday (the 21st) sees us joining the Smash & Grab team at Proud Galleries, Camden! We cannot wait. With photo booths, dressing up boxes and much much more these guys know how to have a good time! Come down come down, we want to see you there.

So for now we'll say goodbye, see you Thursday, and check out our favourites from the past week.
Love,
The Natives x x

Busy Times Ahead

Hi!!

We hope everyone has been enjoying the beginning of 2010. This is going to be a great year, we can feel it already. We have had a truly amazing start to the year and every day just keeps getting better and better.

We're so excited to announce a monthly residency at KOKO, Camden. We will be joining glittery forces with Buttoned Down Disco on the second Saturday of every month.

BDD has been running for seven years and is the ultimate indie night out in London. Saturday 13th Feb will be our first night there so come in and have your faces decorated by our Native girls if you are out in North London. We really hope to see you there!

The Native girls will be also be out in force tomorrow (Sunday 10th Jan) at The Flowerpot, Kentish Town Road for their David Bowie inspired night as well as Sensible Sundays at The Lock Tavern, Camden - two of our favourite places in North London. We cannot wait!!

We will then be returning to The Flowerpot on Saturday 16th Jan bringing some sparkling magic to Ronnkie Pop. Very exciting and busy times for the Natives!

Looking forward we are going to be bringing our 'top tips of the week' to our blog so watch this space for more ideas, news and updates.

Lots of love for now,
The very excited Native team xx

NYE And All That Jazz

So New Years' Eve went off with many a bang...

We celebrated with Mumford and Sons at Flowerpot's party at The Forum in Kentish Town where we launched Native Faces and unleashed our team of Native girls on the lovely punters.

With 2,000 potential faces to paint, we managed to get our hands on a fair few. We're sorry for those of you who queued for over an hour, but we are seriously flattered you were that keen!

We had some smashing requests - some which definitely made our girls giggle. I think the over-all favourite was definitely the Golden-Ear Boys though a moustache of glitter was definitely a close contender.

We've put up a few of our favourite photos for you to enjoy - we hope you like them.

2010 began with with such a great night - we truly started as we mean to go on.

We have a few fun things in the pipeline...we'll give you some clues soon.

Love,

The Natives x x
